However, the patient’s journey to diagnosis is often long and involves many challenges. Venture Kick just awarded RetinAI with 130'000.- CHF to make eye care accessible and affordable to everyone via artificial intelligence. 5th international congress oct angiography [December'17]

Standortförderung canton Bern [november'17]

RetinAI has been awarded with a grant from the Standortförderung from the Canton Bern. This cash contribution will support our developments in the field of artificial intelligence in eye healthcare starting in Q1.2018!


NVIDIA GTC munich 2017 [october'17]

RetinAI held a presentation during the last edition of the Nvidia GTC Europe in Munich, covering how ophthalmology is changing with Machine Learning. Stefanos Apostolopoulos (Technical Director) and Dr. Sandro De Zanet (Scientific Director) presented the efforts the company is doing to improve medical eye care around the world.


Forum EPFL - Startup Day [october'17]

RetinAI's booth on the Forum EPFL startup day received many visitors interested in the future of ophthalmology and medical eye care. Sam Stucky shared RetinAI's vision with students and showed how Artificial Intelligence (AI) will help bringing ophthalmology to those who need it the most and support current decision making pipeline in developing countries.


5th MedTech & Digital Health Forum BASEL [OCTOBER'17]

RetinAI participated in the latest edition of the 5th Medtech & Digital Health Forum in Basel. The team had the opportunity to present our current developments and efforts towards bringing Artificial Intelligence to Ophthalmology, specially in developing countries.

RetinAI's efforts to transform ophthalmology via machine learning will be shown in this year's edition of the Nvidia GTC Europe. EURETINA 2017 + MICCAI 2017 [august'17]

RetinAI is getting ready for a September full of conferences and events! September 7-10th we will be in the 17th EURETINA Congress in Barcelona, followed by 4 days in MICCAI'2017 in Quebec. In Canada we will present our work on automatic segmentation of pathological retinal layers and participate in this year's edition of the  RETOUCH challenge.


The RetinAI team got a 20'000.- CHF price for their startup idea for automatizing the analysis of medical scans of the eye, towards enabling high-throughput screening in the field of ophthalmology. The team is preparing the last Venture Kick Phase III towards the end of the year.


CTI Coaching Acceptance Phase III [June'17]

The CTI Coaching Acceptance Commission has selected the RetinAI project to continue the process to obtaining the CTI Start-up Label. The CTI Start-up Label is a certificate of quality, sustainability, and credibility for investors, and favors successful market entry.

RetinAI is awarded with a Swiss CTI Grant [May'17]

RetinAI has been awarded a Swiss non-dilutive public grant from the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI). The project size is close to CHF 1 Mil.and will develop over 24 months in collaboration with the OTL Group (ARTORG Center, UniBern).

Venture TOP25 [May'17]

Our project for bringing AI to Ophthalmology is among the 25 selected by the Jury of Venture, an initiative of ETHZMcKinsey & Company CHKnecht HoldingCTI & EPFL. On June 19th RetinAI will compete at the Venture Investor Day in Zurich for a cash price for start-ups in CH.
