‍AAO 2022 THROUGH RETINAI’S EYES

Last conference of the year, AAO 2022 Annual Meeting, was a real blast for RetinAI!

With more than 15,000 in-person attendees, almost 3,000 virtual registrants and a huge exhibition hall with more than 400 exhibiting companies, AAO 2022 proved to be the world’s largest association of eye physicians and surgeons as claimed.

For the first time this year, we finally and luckily had no problem with booth building, wrong or missing printed material or merchandising, what a relief!

Three busy days of fairs, with lots of people coming to our booth, asking about our latest developments achieved between one conference and another or discovering us for the first time. We were proud to showcase our advances with our Geographic Atrophy (GA) dashboard and algorithms and to invite attendees to try out, for free for the first two months, our new data management and AI platform, Discovery CORE (there is still possibility to register here if you did not attend AAO!).

Our Disease Evaluation Apps on Heidelberg Engineering’s new workflow solution, AppWay, attracted lots of interest both at our booth and at Heidelberg Engineering’s booth, where promotional videos and live demos were continuously performed throughout the whole conference.

We also had the pleasure to participate at Heidelberg Engineering’s event in one of the best rooftop bars in Chicago, with amazing views on the city and on the lake accompanied by great music and food. Our Disease Evaluation Apps were displayed also at the party, with Chicago skyscrapers at the sunset as background!

With so many exhibiting companies, AAO 2022 was a great opportunity to meet a lot of exhibitors we never connected with during previous conferences: this is beneficial not only to lay down the foundations for new partnerships, but also to stay up to date with the innovations and the various value propositions offered in every field related to ophthalmology (e.g. educational platforms for residents, automation of financial services, acquisition devices etc.).

Final thanks to the AAO organization, to all our customers and partners we met, to all the new relationships we created and to the beautiful Chicago, which offered us a pleasant stay with great weather and food.

Now let’s take a couple of months of rest from travelling around the world, before starting the preparation for the 2023 events!
